Il vantaggio di essere allevatore, e quindi vivere a stretto contatto con questi felini, è di poter “viverli” dalla mattina alla sera, imparando da loro quali possano essere le loro esigenze e cosa possa farli divertire. L’importante per un gatto – soprattutto se vive sempre in casa – è avere più occasioni di muoversi divertendosi. Ecco perché ho cominciato a studiare tiragraffi/arrampicatoi che stimolino la loro esigenza di mettersi alla prova giocando: un gatto è tendenzialmente pigro, e va quindi stimolato a muoversi nell’unico modo che conosce…

La seconda esigenza che ho personalmente sentito è che questi “mobili” fossero anche belli da vedere, che si integrassero con l’arredamento della casa, facendo in modo che i colori ed i materiali usati fossero il più possibile “personalizzabili” e smontabili.

I primi due modelli che ho creato hanno avuto molto successo tra i miei “a-mici”, che li hanno collaudati ed approvati con gioia, quindi posso dire che hanno pienamente superato l’esame e sono quindi pronti per essere messi in vendita.

Attualmente sto lavorando a degli originali “porta-lettiera” che possano anche essere delle comode cucce con porta-ciotole incorporati…spero presto di essere in grado di pubblicare nuove fotografie!

The advantage of being a cats breeder, living close to these pets , is to be part of their life 24/7, learning what they need to make their life the better we can do. The most important thing for a cat – especially if he lives indoor – is to have more opportunities to move around having fun. That’s why I’ve started to study some scratchers/climbers that can stimulate their need to put themselves to the test having fun: a cat is basically lazy , than it’s up to us to stimulate him to exercise in the only way he knows…

I’ve tried to make these scratchers/climbers just like pieces of furniture that could be well-adjusted in each home style, making them in each colour and material people asks me and that can be totally dismantled.

The first two articles I’ve created had been very successful with my furry friends that tried out and joyfully approved them, so I can say they passed the last exam (the most important one!) and they’re ready to be putted on the market.

Actually I’m working on a litterbox covering that could be a comfy bed and a place to eat and dink as well, for people that has little space in the house for their pets…I hope to be able to upload some more pics of it asap…

L’allevamento “dei gatti vikinghi” è un luogo dove convivono “pacificamente” umani e gatti e non solo norvegesi; approfittano infatti della casa e di tutti gli “optionals” anche due bei gattoni soriani di sette e dodici anni, testimoni della passione per questi animali di Ornella, la loro balia “umana”
L’amore per i norvegesi nacque circa vent’anni fa nel suo cuore, ma la realizzazione di questo sogno è recente e sta crescendo sempre più forte, perchè – come disse un giorno un’allevatrice di grande esperienza – questi gatti sono come le ciliegie: uno tira l’altro!!! L’ obiettivo è crescere gatti sani e robusti, con un buon carattere, ma l’aspetto fiero e selvaggio del Norvegese; ecco perchè le nostre “ragazze” partoriscono non più di una cucciolata l’anno: per dare ad ogni mamma la possibilità di riprendersi al meglio dal parto e dall’allattamento ed ai cuccioli di godere il più possibile delle cure della mamma prima e degli umani poi.

Our cattery is a place where humans and cats live together. In our garden you can find four “norwegian girls” and two european cats enjoying the “optionals” of our house. Ornella, the breeder, has always loved cats, but she started with Norwegians not so much time ago, realizing her ancient dream to live with a “wild cat” like a wegie…. Our goal is to breed healthy and strong kittens with a nice and sweet temper and a natural NFO expression, that’s why we have just one litter a year: to give mums the right time to recover from their “hard work” and to give each kitten as much time and care as possible, to make sure it becomes a big loving and healthy cat.
